Hon Sani Ribadu, the younger brother of former Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Chairman, Nuhu Ribadu, has freed.
He has regained freedom 5 days after he was abducted by unknown gunmen at his farm in Adamawa state.
A family source confirmed that he returned uninjured. Meanwhile, it is not clear whether any ransom was paid for his release.
It is yet unknown if the abduction was by some insurgents in the area or if it was politically motivated.
There was suspicion of political motives last night because Sani was marked as “central to the campaign coordination of the ex-EFCC chairman.”
Mallam Nuhu Ribadu is the Chairman of the Petroleum Revenue Task Force and a former Nigerian government anti-corruption official. He was the pioneer Executive Chairman of Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the government commission tasked with countering corruption and fraud. In April 2009, he became a visiting fellow at the Center for Global Development.
